For an easy day trip, I'd go to the Tucan/Quetzal complex. Its a 5 minute cab ride from the Ferry. Its smaller than Paraiso, but there is no comparing the beautiful Playacar beach and blue, blue Carribean. Paraiso is beautiful, but its a 20 minute bus ride from the ferry and pretty isolated.
