I just got back from Cozumel, and I did both, snorkeled from shore at Dzul Ha, and went with Arrecifes. If I had to pick between the two, I would pick Arrecifes, only because Edwardo will show you the most magnificant creatures in the sea. We saw so many different marine life like an eagle ray, star fish, spiny crab, lobster, 2 eels, and many many fish. From the shore at Dzul ha, I saw a huge parrot fish, and some other fish, it was nice, but not as good as Arrecifies, and with Arrecifies if you go for the full day, you go to lunch at Nachee Cocum, a beach resort and the food is wonderful!! It's up to you, Rebecca : I have done much research about snorkeling in Cozumel, and we have finally narrowed it down to taking the Arrecifes tour OR snorkeling from shore at Dzul-Ha (or in that area). My husband and I have snorkeled MANY times in the Keys and Bahamas and are looking for the best experience we can in Cozumel. I have learned so much from the message boards but I am really stuck trying to decide! I have seen such great reviews about both of the options. If we take the Arrecifes we need to take the half day trip which cuts out lunch, beach party, and Dzul Ha. If we just go to Dzul-Ha, can we snorkel on our own or are there going to be guides hanging with us? Is it plenty of area and sights to keep us busy for several hours? Is snorkeling in Columbia Shallows so much more amazing and impressive? Any opinions are APPRECIATED!
