You will need a credit card to rent a vehicle. They wouldn't take cash where I rented. I avoid using my charge card anywhere, but had to give in when I rented a vehicle.
: Hello! I haven't stayed at the reef, we stay at the El Cozumeleno and just need to take spending money for souveniers since it is all inclusive. For our rental vehichle though I know they will take visa/mc. I would purchase any necessary things, such as sun block, from the states because they charge almost double in Cozumel for things like that. We also buy our underwater cameras at home because they are expensive in Cozumel as well.
