: Hi Robert,
: We're going to the Presidente in November. Just wondering what to expect. I was psyched to see you rated it "awesome", but can you be more specific? How much was the cab fare to town (and can 5 people fit in a cab)? I planned this trip on my own for 5 of us (all adults), and I'm getting nervous about delivering a fun vacation. I'm hoping the Presidente isn't too far from things, especially since I figure we'll need to go to town to eat dinner most nights.
: Anything you can tell me to ease my mind will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Meryl,
It was beautiful. It is nice and secluded but not too far. It sits all by itself nestled in beautiful tropical foilage. It has fabulous snorkling right there from the beach and Scuba Du diving right there on location as well. They have a beach that is like an open cove that is just fabulous. We snorkeled there in just about 3 feet of water and saw millions of little minnow fish, a few medium size fish that play with you (bumping up against you and you can hand feed them bread), saw a conch in a beautiful shell, and even a FLOUNDER! I couldn't believe we were seeing all this in just 3 feet of water only about 10 yards from where the water met the beach. The hotel service is fantastic. There are porters at the main lobby that ask you if you need a taxi or anything everytime you go to the front and if you do they will call them over and open the door for you. A taxi into town costs $4.00 US and you can tightly fit 5 people into some of them. The food at the hotel is great but a little pricy. Of course you want to eat at the various places in town as some are great, especially Prima italian restaurant. If you go there, get the Combo with Alfredo sauce. It is the best seafood pasta I have ever eaten and the price was really great. The Combo is Fettucine Pasta (your choice of sause, I recommend the Alfredo) with large shrimp, LARGE chuncks of lobster and large scallops. Man, I am drooling just thinking about it. Let's get back to the hotel... They have great room service. They clean your room at mid-morning (the rooms are really nice and spacious) and come in the late afternoon and turn down the beds and put ice in the bucket. They leave a breakfast room service door hanger in your room everyday. You can fill it out telling them what kind of breakfast you want and for how many people and at what time you want it, then you hang it on your door. They will pick it up in the middle of the night and show up in the morning right on time with your breakfast. The man will put a tablecloth on the table and completely set it and set up the food just like the restaurant. It is really pampering and we enjoyed doing breakfast this way several times. It was like elegant breakfast dining in your room. We recieved the same type of service for any room service that we ordered.
On the beach, every umbrella has a flag on a wooded stick layed up under the canopy. When you take it out and stick it in the sand, someone will come over from the outside grill/bar and take your order and bring it to you on the beach.
I can talk quite a bit but I hope this helps and if you have any more specific questions you can either post it or e-mail me at rlahue@hcceb.com

Robert
