Hello! I haven't stayed at the reef, we stay at the El Cozumeleno and just need to take spending money for souveniers since it is all inclusive. For our rental vehichle though I know they will take visa/mc. I would purchase any necessary things, such as sun block, from the states because they charge almost double in Cozumel for things like that. We also buy our underwater cameras at home because they are expensive in Cozumel as well.
I can't help you much with the scuba info, we snorkel when we are there.

: oct 23-30. staying at the reef. how much cash do i need? do the merchants take visa/mc? if i can't use sun block, where do i purchase non-toxic sun block, here in the states or when i get there? where & cost?

: we are first time everything. should we get a multi-day dive package? is the dive shop at the reef ok? can you dive/snorkel with rx glasses?
