what do i take on my first visit to cozumel?

oct 23-30. staying at the reef. how much cash do i need? do the merchants take visa/mc? if i can't use sun block, where do i purchase non-toxic sun block, here in the states or when i get there? where & cost?

we are first time everything. should we get a multi-day dive package? is the dive shop at the reef ok? can you dive/snorkel with rx glasses?
