Not much around. You can walk to town (20+ minute walk) and I liked the town but as far as nature get a ways by foot...none that I know of. The golf course sucks (the course is OK but clubhouse and practice facilites are worthless).
Not much snorkeling on the mainland without going by car. Really inexpensive scuba to be had in town. The public beach is nice.

: If anyone stayed at the Iberostar Tucan in Playa del Carmen, I would like to know if there is any cool little hideaways down the beach in any direction or any real neat things at the resort that you have found and would like to share. Any snokeling near by? I know the food stories, but am looking for our of the ordinary things to do on or walking distance from the hotel. Any Cenotes near in walking distance?? Love to hear from you all.
