Iberostar - CozumelPosted by John J on July 02, 2000 at 20:38:07: My wife and I vacationed with our 8 year old daughter at the Iberostar 27-Jun thru 1-Jul-00. The grounds are beautiful...probably the nicest on the island. Previous reports about the snorkeling at the resort were correct. There is a lot of coral. Visibility is low and there is almost no wildlife in the water. We opted to take our daughter to Chakanaab for snorkeling. Cab fare from Iberostar to Chakanaab is $10USD each way. The entrance fee is also $10USD per person. The food and drink were of good quality but this resort definitely caters to the American palate. We stayed in building 52 the first night. Buildings 51, 52 and 53 are too close to the theatre / disco. I would avoid staying in these buildings unless you like to stay up past midnight when the disco ends. The second day we moved to another room which had a king size bed. We needed a roll away bed for our daughter. For being a new resort the roll-aways looked like they came from a garage sale. We stayed at the Robinson Club Tulum two years ago. I rate the Robinson Club superior to the Iberostar Cozumel.
