: Did your boat actually go completely below the surface? And if so, did it really go 100 feet down? I thought the tourist submarines (the real ones) only went like 25' deep. At 100 feet, there's quite a bit of water pressure and I can't help but wonder about how much extra engineering would need to be done to make a tourist boat (i.e, one with lots of windows to see out) safe at that depth. I also wonder about what kind of safety measures would be necessary to commercially operate a true submarine to 100 feet and do it with a good margin of safety. Perhaps I am misinformed.... Yes Dave it really is a submarine!! Im not sure about the "painted" boat but I went on it and when you arrive at the location where the sub is supposed to be I noticed nother charter boat like ours with no people on board and in a few minutes the sub surfaced and then about 25 people climbed out and in we went :-) I thought it was worth it, though I dont remember what it cost anymore. I dont snorkle either and that was my choice.
