I would be equally upset with Continental - they did afterall sell off their tickets to PriceLine. You should also know that telling an airline there has been a death in the family is supposed to give you a break in the price of the ticket. However, in my experience, I find the airlines to be greedy mongers and charge outrageous rates to people trying to get to a funeral. They feel you need to leave and you will pay whatever. Again I am sorry about your experience, but I believe Continental shares alot of the blame as well and I would seek reimbursement from Continental.
